The adventure begins in the heart of the city, next to Plaza de la Ópera, from where we’ll head towards Calle Factor to marvel at one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral. The route continues, immersing itself in the medieval past of the Plaza de la Villa and the majesty of the Plaza Mayor, serving as a prelude to the bohemian charm of the Literary Quarter. As we cycle along the emblematic Calle Cervantes and pass by the historic Casa Alberto, we’ll relive the spirit of the Spanish Golden Age before crossing the Paseo del Prado, flanking the Royal Spanish Academy and the renowned Prado Museum.
The halfway point of the route takes us into the heart of Retiro Park, an urban oasis where we’ll uncover captivating stories in front of the enigmatic sculpture of the Fallen Angel, the fragrance of the Rose Garden, and the elegance of the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens. After admiring the dreamlike architecture of the Crystal Palace, we’ll make a strategic pause by the large Retiro Pond to admire the imposing Monument to Alfonso XII.
